Mandatory TEC 2026 Requirements for New Installations in Phuket:

Cables: Copper only. Use of NYM, VAF-G, or THHN/THWN-2 in PVC conduit. Cross-section: 2.5 mm² for sockets, 4 mm² for air conditioner lines, 6 mm² for water heaters and electric stoves.

Protection: In the distribution board — RCBO (Residual Current Breaker with Overcurrent protection) on each circuit. Additionally — SPD (Type 2) at the main input for protection against lightning surges.

Grounding: Mandatory TT system loop with a grounding electrode and resistance < 5 Ohms. Complete separation of neutral (N) and earth (PE).

Circuit Distribution: Division into groups: lighting (1-2 groups), general sockets (3-4 groups), kitchen (separate group), air conditioners (each on its own circuit), water heater (separate circuit).
