Pros: fire resistance, durability, good dimensional stability. Cons: high weight, more difficult to cut. For battens under a ventilated facade, moisture-resistant FSF plywood is suitable. Chipboard (Particle board) is made from chips and resins, suitable for subfloor and framing. Fiberboard (hardboard) is made from fibers, thin, for the back panels of furniture.
