First, exact dimensions: measure the space taking into account not only the bathtub's length/width but also room for utility connections and screen installation. Second, protective coating: for acrylic bathtubs, the layer thickness and the presence of reinforcement are important; for steel and cast iron, the quality of the enamel resistant to household chemicals. Third, shape and configuration: corner and asymmetrical models save space, and bathtubs with a built-in handrail are safer. Fourth, included components/accessories: check for the presence or possibility of separately purchasing the siphon, overflow, feet, and mounting kit. Fifth, installation: discuss with the installer in advance the specifics of installation in your type of building (e.g., framed walls, limited access), as well as the need for additional waterproofing work, which is especially relevant for our humid climate.

For a small condo, the key factor is saving space. We recommend a compact acrylic or steel bathtub in a corner or sitting (shorter) form. Instead of a bulky screen, consider an option with a built-in niche or use a lightweight PVC panel. For the faucet/mixer, it's better to choose a wall-mounted or built-in model to save space. For a spacious villa, the choice is wider: a full-size cast iron or composite bathtub in a rectangular or oval shape is suitable. A decorative screen made of moisture-resistant panels, tiles, or even tempered glass is appropriate here. You can install a separate shower column or a hydro-massage system. For both property types in Phuket, organizing good ventilation for the space under the bathtub is critically important to prevent mold.

For Phuket's climate with high humidity and salty air, several types of bathtubs are suitable. Acrylic bathtubs are the most popular: they are lightweight, warm to the touch, and come in any shape (corner, oval, asymmetrical), making them ideal for non-standard layouts. Steel bathtubs are the most budget-friendly and lightweight option, but water cools quickly in them, and filling is accompanied by noise. Cast iron bathtubs are classic: they retain heat for a very long time, are incredibly durable, but very heavy, complicating delivery and installation in multi-story buildings. There are also modern composite bathtubs (made of artificial stone): they combine strength, scratch resistance, and excellent thermal insulation properties, making them an excellent, albeit more expensive, choice.
